Cannabis chocolate

If you're not into smoking or inhaling vapor, edible cannabis products might be right for you. Among the options, chocolate is particularly popular. However, you don't have to rely solely on space cookies or hash brownies to experience a high. An alternative is cannabis chocolate, a tempting treat infused with potent cannabis. Yet, the psychoactive effects only occur if the hemp chocolate is properly prepared.

The effect of edibles like chocolate is stronger compared to smoking cannabis, as the liver converts the original Δ-9-THC into 11-Hydroxy-THC, which penetrates the blood-brain barrier more easily, leading to a more intense high.

However, the ultimate feeling of the high also depends on the dosage and the strain of cannabis used. Sativa strains can enhance concentration and foster creativity, while Indica weed has a calming effect, relieving stress and anxiety and providing relaxation.

There are many ways to combine cannabis and chocolate, but it's beneficial not to make it too complicated! This simple recipe for cannabis-infused chocolate could be just right.

How to make cannabis chocolate:

This recipe is extremely simple and guarantees satisfactory results even for inexperienced cannabis cooks. However, it's important to understand that cannabis needs to be decarboxylated at a certain point in a recipe for it to have psychoactive effects when consumed.

Decarboxylation is the process of heating cannabis to convert the original THCA in cannabis into psychoactive THC. This occurs naturally when cannabis is smoked or vaporized but needs to be done manually when certain recipes require little or no baking.

To make approximately 15 pieces of cannabis chocolate, you will need:

  • About 5-7 grams of finely ground, decarboxylated cannabis of your choice (quantity adjustable to preference)

  • 150 grams of dark chocolate (regular bars or chocolate chips)

  • Glass bowl

  • Saucepan

  • Chocolate mold

Instructions:

  • Start by melting the chocolate. Chop the chocolate and melt it over a double boiler. Fill the saucepan with hot water and let the bowl with the chocolate float on top. Stir occasionally and make sure no water gets into the chocolate. It's best to use a bowl that rests on the rim of the saucepan to ensure gentle melting.

  • Place the chocolate in the glass bowl and let it melt while stirring occasionally.

  • Thoroughly mix the decarboxylated cannabis with the melted chocolate. Make sure you have ground the buds as finely as possible beforehand.

  • If you like, you can also add orange zest, mint, nuts, raisins, or other ingredients.

  • Once everything is well combined, pour the liquid chocolate into molds to set. If you don't have specific molds, ice cube trays can also be used.

  • Place the molds in the refrigerator until the chocolate is completely hardened.

After successfully making cannabis chocolate, it is now ready for direct use or can be used for other recipes. As always with edible cannabis products, it's important to adjust the amount of cannabis consumption to your personal preferences. It is recommended to wait at least 60 minutes after consuming the chocolate to observe the effects and ensure they take effect.
